The department also oversees the support, follow up and fundraising towards the support of the frontier missionaries currently serving in the hardship areas of Marsabit, Baringo and Madagascar.
In partnership with like-minded organizations and churches, the department identifies appropriate links for resource mobilization and fundraising for effective ministry within Africa to accomplish the biblical mandate of the GREAT COMMISSION, which is at the heart of Church Army ministry.
This is headed by the Director of missions and ministry Formation Officer under the office of the General Secretary. The department acts as a conduit between the Office of the General Secretary and the College Principal’s office.
It is tasked with the role of implementation of the mission of the organization, enabling the Church to evangelize in order to achieve her goal of realizing community of Anglican evangelists positively transforming the society throughout Africa.
This is carried out through grass-root leadership training, primary evangelism and community. The office is mandated to actively participate in the formulation of mission courses along the HEAL concept and teaching of the same across all the colleges affiliated to Carlile College, the training centre for the evangelists who are commissioned at the end of their successful training of 2-3 years.
The office is tasked with ministry formation of the students through short term and long term ministry placements across the parishes and dioceses majorly within the Anglican Dioceses across Africa supervised by the respective parish Vicars who account for the performance of the students at the end on every term. Some are attached to hospitals, prisons and children homes for chaplaincy pastoral care.
Their supervisory role is critical for the evaluation of the students in preparation for the commissioning and possible ordination of the college graduates.
In pursuit of the Great Commissions mandate by our Lord Jesus (Matt.28:16-20) and the vision of the founder of Church Army, the office also organizes integral mission outreaches through the local churches and other organizations to the Lost, Last and Least of the community through ministry to hospitals, prisons, police stations, children centres, secondary and primary school ministries as well as refugees camps in partnerships with officers on the round and the college students.
